18th Century Field Day

Jonas Cattell

Haddonfield Chapter will present an award to the first place teenage finisher of the 10 mile run from Kings Court in Haddonfield to Fort Mercer In National Park, NJ. This annual event commemorates Jonas Cattell's 1777 run to warn the patriots at Fort Mercer of an impending British attack. This is the 45th running of this popular event! This year, the Jonas Cattell Run will begin at 8:00am, at King's Court in Haddonfield and will end at Fort Mercer in National Park, New Jersey. Runners are expected to complete the event at approximately 10:00am. The Haddonfield Chapter will present a plaque to the first teenage finisher of the run.

The Jonas Cattell Run takes place in conjunction with the 18th Century Field Day at Red Bank Battlefield. There will be a series of reenactments by Continental, British, and Hessian soldiers in period uniform, tours of the Ann Whitall House, colonial music, crafters, and more to celebrate the occasion.
